Horn: Grand Teton Wyoming


 

The above image is a topographical clip from the Grand Teton Quadrangle in Wyoming.  The feature in the middle named Grand Teton is a horn.  A horn is a mountain peak that has been shaped by glaciers.  In the above map one can see the Grand Teton and Teeepe Glaciers.

The same topographical map from above has been draped over a three dimensional surface in the photo below.  The highest peak in the photo is the Grand Teton horn.   Two glaciers can be seen in front of the horn.
